I am Liberal Larry. My blog is going to be used mostly by me to understand why root liberal agendas don't become policy. Either with laws or by the Supreme Court system.
Ponder these ideas:1. Why do we have a government officials and there voters complain about campaign finance reform and then have our Supreme Court decide that corporation (foreign and domestic) and voters have the same right to contribute to any law makers campaign?
2. Why do Democrats have a SUPER majority for the first time in a very long time and don't have the BALLS to create laws that obviously the major of the voters want? Health Care reform got most of the Democratic legislators elected to their current posts. But, then they don't have the BALLS to tell the obstructionist Republican'ts, "We don't care what your corporate sponsors want, we ARE changing Health Care the way the voters want it!!" Yes, I am saying call the conservatives bluff, let them filibuster or attempt to. Show them for the money grubbing fools they are. After the American voter see who they really are, they will not get re-elected.
3. Why is our prison system ran by vendors/contractors? There are certain things our government should be managing/running. The idea that our prison system is being run by a corporation, seems wrong. Isn't the propose of any corporation to make a profit? So, a corporation is contracted to run one or more of our prison systems, besides housing the prisoners, their other objective is to make a profit. Wow, that seems wrong!! So, if you are large oil company and you want to stifle a certain terrorist from saying certain information on a witness stand about said oil company, if the oil company owns the prison, wouldn't it be easy to stifle said terrorist/witness.
These are the type of ideas and concepts that I am struggling with as a liberal. This blog will have more questions like this. Enjoy reading.
